The Sarbans Dani – Sri Guru Gobind Singh

As I turn the pages  to witness the history of humankind ,

A personality like  Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji is impossible to find!

There was  no one like him in the past, in the  present  or will be in the future, 

Who sacrificed his  father, sons and himself for his  nation, belief, justice and culture. 

For the sake of Kashmiri Pandits at the  age of 9 , he lost his father to the Mughal  atrocity

Guru Tegh Bhadhur, his  father, the  Hind ki  chaddar, gave  away his  head, to safeguard Hindu  religion and humanity.

A  polyglot  whose  compositions   Jaap  Sahib,  Bachitar Natak , Akal Ustat , Zafarnama  surpass literary genius and excellence,

Saint  in the times of peace  and  soldier  in war  is  his divine life’s essence.

In 1699 on the historic day of Vaisakhi , he founded  the Khalsa- gifted to the society-  a benevolent  warrior community  

Gave them the  distinct identity of  five K’s of kacha, karah, kirpan , kangha and kes  to  fight any injustice with utmost  integrity.

He  fought 13 battles with Mughals  and kings of Siwalik hills for the  restoration of equality and peace,

 It was the  Dhram Yudh  against the evil, something fought as a last resort , not out of a wish, power  or greed.

In the  bloodiest  battle of Chamkaur,  his  courageous sons,  Sahibzada  Ajit  and Jujhar    fought thousands,  kissed martyrdom, at the tender age of  eighteen and fourteen

The Chote  Sahibzade  Zorawar and  Fateh  were bricked alive when only eight and  six ,an  example of  courage, righteousness  and  fortitude never before seen. 

 My Kalghidhar Patshah, Sarbans Dani at the martyrdom of his sons only remarked , “What if four sons have died, for thousands (of my sons and daughters) live on!”

Indebted, blessed  is the humanity ,this world, and the land of  Hindustan, where  Sri  Guru Gobind Singh, this  Sant Sipahi was born!
